Terms of Use
Last updated November 7, 2026
These terms cover your use of vinnyfin, the video player for Jellyfin servers made by Vincent Sajkowski. By using vinnyfin you agree to them. How vinnyfin handles your information is in the Privacy Policy.
What vinnyfin is
vinnyfin is a free app that plays and downloads video from a Jellyfin server. It doesn’t come with any movies or shows: you bring your own server, or access to someone else’s. I don’t run, host or control the servers you connect to or anything on them.
Your server and your content
- Only connect to servers you’re allowed to use, and only watch or download what you have the right to.
- You’re responsible for what’s on the servers you use and for following the laws that apply to it where you are.
- Content ratings and any restrictions come from your server. vinnyfin shows what the server provides.
Open source
vinnyfin’s source code is available on GitHub under the GNU General Public License, version 3. Nothing in these terms limits the rights that license gives you over the source code. vinnyfin also includes open-source components under their own licenses, listed in the app under Settings › Acknowledgements.
If you got vinnyfin from the App Store, Apple’s terms for apps from the App Store apply to that copy too.
No warranty
vinnyfin is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. It’s built to be reliable, but downloads can fail, servers can be unreachable, and files can be lost, so keep your own copies of anything that matters.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, I’m not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of vinnyfin or of any server you connect to with it.
Not affiliated
vinnyfin isn’t made by or affiliated with the Jellyfin project, Gelato, Dolby or DTS. Jellyfin is a trademark of its owners; Dolby, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and DTS are trademarks of their owners.
Changes
If these terms change, this page will be updated with a new date at the top. Using vinnyfin after that means you accept the new terms. You can stop using vinnyfin at any time by deleting it.
